The City of Chattanooga streamlines Special event permitting with Eproval
New platform to make applying for special event permits faster, smoother and easier for event organizers Chattanooga, TN – The City of Chattanooga is pleased to announce that they have launched the Eproval platform to process special event permits. The new platform will make it easier for applicants to apply for special event permits and streamline the approval process for reviewers and approvers.
Applicants can now apply for all the permits they need to hold a special event in the city via a single online web page, make payments via a secure payment gateway and receive real-time updates regarding where their application is in the approval process.

“We know from past experience that consolidating all permit applications into one central location will lead to a remarkable increase in efficiency,” Said Jonathan Thompson, Managing Director of Eproval, “Event organizers will also find the application process much smoother because all required permits will be together in one easy to access system.”
In addition to applicant ease of use, city administrators will benefit from alerts, reminders, and notifications to prompt follow-through and keep departments proactively informed of the actions taken by all reviewers. This is expected to enhance collaboration and streamline the approval process.
The City of Chattanooga has set up an application process with a pre-approval step that allows applicants to apply with some basic knowledge of the event. If the concept is approved they can proceed with the application. Event organizers wishing to start the pre-approval step can visit: https://specialevents.chattanooga.gov/login/
Events in the City of Chattanooga have grown an incredible 200% since the pandemic due in part to the rebuild of the Miller Park facilities including a stage and movie screen along with annual events including IronMan, Moon River, Head of the Hooch, and more.
A popular destination for events, the City of Chattanooga offers natural beauty, a temperate climate, welcoming citizens, and excellent venues. Enhancing the permitting process is expected to make the City of Chattanooga an even more attractive location for events and film productions that will ultimately drive an economic boost. The Chattanooga Film Commission is also expected to move film permitting to the Eproval platform in the Spring of 2024.
