City of Aurora Launches Their First Online Special Event Permit Solution

VANCOUVER, August 2 – On July 22, the City of Aurora, Illinois, reached another major milestone in their digital transformation. The City’s Special Events department launched the organization’s first online Special Event Permit solution. “What was once a complex, manual, paper-based process is now efficient and automated. We now have custom event applications, back-end approval workflow, centralized communications, user dashboards, and reporting,” stated Michael Pegues, Chief Information Officer with the City of Aurora. “This automation will dramatically reduce the effort to apply for event permits, reduce approval times, and lower our administration costs.”

The City’s Information Technology and Special Events departments worked closely with the team at Eproval to tailor the platform to meet their complex permitting process. “We were seeking a customizable platform that would streamline our event permit application and approval process whilst being affordable, easy to use, and fast for us to implement,” remarked Linda Jones, Project Manager with the City. “Now we have a quality product that works well for everyone involved especially event organizers and our internal departments.”
