Eproval’s FAQ

Do I need to install any software to use Eproval?

No, there is no software that needs to be installed to use Eproval because the platform is offered as software as a service, however, setup and configuration are required to migrate your city’s process to our permitting and licensing platform and ensure that the platform is communicating with all designated stakeholders.

How long does it typically take to setup and configure Eproval?

Since Eproval is offered as software as a service (sometimes referred to as “cloud-hosted” or “in the cloud,” or “cloud-based” or simply “hosted service”) the implementation phase is much faster than installing traditional “on-premise” software. The rate limiting step for implementation is normally not the time needed to migrate from an existing process but the time needed to enhance, streamline and refine the existing process. We believe that if you are going to automate your process you might as well make it as efficient as possible first. We find that a typical implementation can be done in as little as 2-4 months depending upon the needs of the client. Some clients want to completely rework their existing process and in that case it can sometimes take longer. A time estimate is one of the first things we will tackle during the implementation phase. Is Eproval a permitting platform for special events or other types of applications?

The short answer is we are both. We cut our teeth as a special event permitting platform but due to the simple sophistication of our product we were soon asked if our platform could be used for other purposes. Since we are always looking to delight our customers we have happily helped migrate three-dozen types of applications to the Eproval platform. While we started as a special event permitting platform we now do film permits, grant applications, dog licenses and a whole lot more. To see the full list of applications we now support please visit our Other Applications page.

Do you have any reference customers we could speak to?
