Recent flurry of innovation yields dozens of application types including special event, film, asphalt art and now street vendor licenses

Vancouver, BC – Adding to its roster of supported application types, Eproval, the undisputed leader in Special Event Permitting, has added support for street vendor licenses.

“Adding support for street vendor licenses was a natural product extension for us,” said Jonathan Thompson, Eproval’s Managing Director, “Similar to special event permitting, issuing a street vendor license requires coordination between city staff and public agencies such as public health, roadworks, engineering. Our platform automates and simplifies that coordination burden.”

STREET VENDOR LICENSES
Cities require any person selling goods in a public place, street or sidewalk to obtain a street vendor license. The category of license may refer to a broader group of peddlers, street vendors and solicitors who may sell goods on foot, from a vehicle or stand. A popular type of street vendor license is for food trucks which typically falls under this category.

Eproval permitting platform now supports street vendor licenses

Issuing street vendor licenses allows cities to ensure that vendors are carrying adequate insurance, complying with all health and safety regulations and maintaining a favourable business reputation. Support for street vendor licenses is just the latest in a recent flurry of innovations to be announced by Eproval in recent months.

“We’re just getting started,” said Jonathan Thompson, Eproval’s Managing Director, “In the last 2 months we’ve added support for three new application types and we’re going to continue that pace of innovation well into 2023. Watch for more announcements to come in the new year.”

From an administrative standpoint, the platform’s ecommerce function ensures applicants are charged the appropriate fee. Sophisticated reporting allows administrators to track key metrics including the number of licenses issued. For cities that have also purchased the Scheduled Email Notifications module they can send out auto reminders near the end of the year to remind existing license holders to renew. Renewing vendors can duplicate the information in their existing application, provide a new date, review and submit. Eproval makes licensing easier for applicants, reviewers and city staff.
